The Colts fandom has been holding their breath for the past few weeks, hoping that Richardson's injury timeline doesn't get extended. Today, during media engagements, Chris Ballard gave out updates on the QB's condition.

"Anthony is good to go. He's been throwing for about three weeks now. He's really upped his volume. First couple of weeks, we'll probably limit some volume."

Anthony Richardson's surgically repaired right arm appears to have made it through OTAs with nothing more than a minor flare-up. Still, the Colts are wisely erring on the side of caution, placing the 23-year-old quarterback on a volume-restricted throwing plan. Encouragingly, he has ramped up his workload over the past few weeks without any reported setbacks.

With training camp now underway and the quarterback competition heating up, both the fanbase and the front office are hoping to see the team’s top contenders at full strength. For now, analysts give a slight edge to veteran Daniel Jones. His experience, first-team reps during OTAs, and sharper accuracy in short-to-intermediate routes all work in his favor. Yet, Richardson's raw physical gifts remain undeniable. If he can show meaningful strides in his decision-making and mechanics this offseason, the starting job could still be within reach.

Adding to the uncertainty, new Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon offered only a reserved endorsement of Richardson over the weekend, saying he “still has time to prove” he’s the team’s long-term answer at quarterback. While her comments stopped short of closing the door, they signal that the leash may be shorter than some expected.
